The Sound of Devotion
Nizami Qawwali carries forward the centuries-old tradition of Sufi qawwali — the devotional music that has moved hearts from the shrines of Delhi to gatherings across the world. Ours is not a performance for spectacle. It is an offering — a bridge between the earthly and the divine, built on melodies that have endured for eight hundred years.
Rooted in the lineage of Hazrat Amir Khusrau and the great Sufi mystics, our repertoire spans hamd, naat, manqabat, and ghazal — from the Persian verses that gave birth to the tradition to the Punjabi kafis and Urdu ghazals that expanded its reach. Each kalam we perform has been chosen not only for its beauty but for its capacity to stir something deep and wordless in those who hear it.
من تن شدم تو جان شدی
Man tu shudam tu man shudi, man tan shudam tu jaan shudi
“I became you and you became me — I became the body, you became the soul”
— Hazrat Amir Khusrau
When we perform at your event, we don’t just play music — we create a mehfil, an intimate gathering where every voice becomes part of the devotion. The harmonium breathes, the tabla speaks, and the qawwal’s voice rises until the boundary between performer and listener dissolves entirely. That is the tradition we carry, and that is the experience we bring to your most sacred occasions.
